"The strangest thing that has ever happened to me"

I have experienced a lot of strange things during my pregnancy.
When I felt fetal movement for the first time, I was very surprised. It was the strange sense as if I kept a creature in my abdomen.

When the fetus grew bigger and moved in my womb, the form of the foot and the fist stood out on the surface of my abdomen. I could imagine what kind of appearance it would have. That was funny.

Also when the fetus moved intensely, I felt pain and discomfort. I might have worried if my body was safe. When the fetus kept kicking and swatting the wall of my womb, I thought what on earth was he thinking? I felt the fetus grab amniotic fluid by vibration and a sense. It wasn't too comfortable. I even felt a sense of fear to have possibilities of consume internal water.

On the other hand, my husband said that he saw a small boy sat down on my shoulder during my sleep quietly when I was pregnant. I had a sense of unity with an other existence when I was pregnant. I was very happy. There was not such a sense of unity elsewhere.

The strangest thing that has ever happened to me is being pregnant.

Thinking about it, I don't think I've ever experienced anything particularly strange.
I suppose that isn't necessarily a bad thing. From your essay I'm quite glad I will never have to go through pregnancy, despite the sense of unity.

Living in Japan, strange is normal. Every so often I suddenly have a sense of bemusement and wonder how I ended up eating insects or arm-wrestling a stranger (long story).

Perhaps the most surreal moment here was Halloween the year before last. I was stood, dressed as Jason Voorhees with hockey mask, cleaver and blood-splattered overalls, at the big road crossing on Hondori. I was in costume but no one else was. Japanese swarmed around me, seemingly unconcerned by the homicidal monster in their midst.

    Strange.
